A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday visited the places where Narayanganj's Tanvir Mohammad Twaki was kidnapped, killed and his body was found.
They first visited the building and Winner Fashion, located next to Ajmeri Osman's house on College Road, from where Twaki was allegedly kidnapped and killed.
After visiting the places, Commanding Officer of RAB-11 Tanveer Mahmud Pasha said Twaki was murdered in 2013 and RAB is looking into the matter for a long time.
“At the beginning of the investigation, there was some progress, after a period of inaction in between, we resumed the investigation of this sensational murder case,” he said.
“RAB headquarters is assisting our battalion and we are getting guidelines from them," he added.
Recently five people have been arrested in connection with this murder and among them, one has given a statement under section 164. “His deposition and cross-examination of others yielded several important facts."
The RAb official hoped that they will submit a report soon.
Earlier, RAB arrested five people named Yar Mahmud Parvez, Safayet Hussain Shipon, Mamun Mia, Kajal Howladar and Jamshed Sheikh for their involvement in the murder case in the last 10 days.
RAB said that all those arrested are close aides of the sons of late Narayanganj MP Nasim Osman and former MP Shamim Osman. Among them, Jamshed Sheikh is Ajmeri Osman's personal driver.
Seventeen year old Twaki went missing from in front of his house in Narayanganj on March 6, 2013, and his father Rafiur Rabbi filed a general diary in this connection.
Twaki was later found dead on the banks of the Shitalakhya in Narayanganj on March 8. His father filed a case at Sadar Model Police Station.
Later, RAB's investigation revealed the involvement of Ajmeri Osman, son of Narayanganj late MP Nasim Osman and nephew of former MP Shamim Osman and his associates in the murder of Twaki.
