Two people were killed allegedly by their rivals over a land dispute in Sirajganj's Sadar upazila on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Al-Amin, 32, son of Thandu of Isamati village of the upazila and Al-Amin Sheikh, 35, son of Farhad Khan of the same village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Sirajul Islam said there was a longstanding dispute between Haider group and Bachchu group, to which the victims belonged, over ownership of a piece of land in the village.
Around 9 pm on Thursday, the supporters of Haider group attacked the duo with locally-made sharp weapons, leaving Al-Amin dead on the spot.
The critically injured Al-Amin Sheikh was rescued and first admitted to the 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj.

When his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at night, where he died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital, added the OC.
On information, police visited the spot at night, he said, adding that additional police forces were deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
A case was filed in this regard, added the officer.
