A case was filed against a Union Parishad (UP) chairman and three other current and former members on charges of forgery of heir certificates in Chattogram on Thursday.
Hasan Murad, a resident of Amuchia union under Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram, lodged the case against them with the court of Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate judge Shariar Iqbal.
The accused are Amuchia UP chairman Kajal Dey, current members Sayeeda Sajia Emdad, Sirajum Munira and former UP member Muslim Uddin.
Advocate Asaduzzaman Khan, the lawyer of the plaintiff, said that his client filed the case bringing the allegations of forging the heir certificate.
Taking the allegations into cognisance, the court ordered the officer-in-charge of Boalkhali police station to submit a report after investigation.
According to the statement, accused Sirajum Munira made a fake national identity card showing ‘deceased Abdul Salam’ as ‘his father’. Hasan Murad is one of the heirs of Abdul Salam.
On November 1, 2021, a fake heir certificate was issued from the UP through forgery in the collaboration with each other accused.
UP member Sayeeda Sajia attested the certificate while Kajal Dey signed and Md Muslim identified.
The accused jointly tried to grab the land property of the deceased Abdus Salam.
