US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas on Wednesday had a meeting with the top officials of the World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Dhaka.
World Bank country chief Abdoulaye Seck and IMF Resident Representative Jayendu De attended the meeting.
"As Diplomats we talk to a wide variety of organisations, institutions and people: civil society and non-government organisations, media professionals, business leaders, chambers of commerce, political parties, academics and universities, government officials, cultural contributors, educators, and many more types of organisations, institutions and individuals," US Embassy Spokesperson Stephen Ibelli told UNB when asked about the issues they discussed.
"These conversations help us better understand Bangladesh and strengthen our bilateral relations," he added.
