A 34-year-old woman died and two others including her husband sustained injuries in a head-on collision between an autorickshaw and a passenger bus on Jashore-Chutipur Road in Sadar upazila of Jashore on Friday.
The deceased was Hafeza Begum, 34, wife of Habibur Rahman who was also injured in the incident, of Kayemkhola village under Jhikargacha upazila of the same district. The injured autorickshaw driver is Nasir Hossain.
The deceased’s family members said the couple was going to Jashore Sadar from Kayemkhola by the autorickshaw.

The accident occurred around 11:30am when the speeding bus collided with the autorickshaw from the opposite direction in Erenda Bazar, leaving the woman dead on the spot and two others critically injured, they said quoting witnesses.
The injured were sent to Jashore Sadar Hospital where they were undergoing treatment, they said.
Tajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jashore Sadar Police Station, said the body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Though the bus could be seized its driver and helpers managed to flee, he said, adding that a process was underway to file a case in this connection.
