A total of 24 Community media fellows along with their mentors from 11 community radio stations connected in the virtual workshop initiated by Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) with support from Free Press Unlimited (FPU), according to a press release.
The objective of the training was to enhance the fellows’ understanding, knowledge and skills on community mobilization and journalism in line with Govt. Social Safety Net program focusing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Executive officer of BNNRC AHM Bazlur Rahman chaired the inaugural session that took place on June 15.
Pointing the result of the training workshop he said that the fellows will create their own place through the fellowship program and work accordingly to create a change in the community.
He explained the three major tasks: radio literacy, print media publication and lobby advocacy for the marginalized people in the community, skill and knowledge is about to be achieved through dedication and assertiveness.
It is the 10th batch of fellowship where a total of 24 youth and youth women from Dalit, ethnic & unprivileged community like- Rabidas, Babar, Cobbler, Sweeper, Blacksmith, Washermen, Weaver, Fisherman , transgender, person with disabilities (PWD) have been included in this fellowship program.
