A youth was killed and three others were injured in a gunfight between two groups for establishing supremacy over a human hauler stand in Cumilla cityâs Shasangachha on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Arnab, 30, son of Md Azhar of local Shasangachha. The identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
Confirming the matter, Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Firoz Hasan said there had long been a dispute between two groups over controlling the human hauler stand.
Four people including Arnab sustained bullet injuries when the both feuding groups traded bullets in the afternoon, he said, adding that the impact of the clash left Arnab dead on the spot.

The rest injured were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment, he said.
It couldnât immediately be confirmed whether Arnab was a fellow of any group or any pedestrian, the OC said.
No one has been arrested and no case lodged in this connection, the police officer added.
