The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed on a high note Wednesday, with all major indexes rising as prices surged for a record 373 companies. The day saw a total trading volume of Tk 519 crore, significantly up from Tk 346 crore on Tuesday.
DSE records indicate that 21.55 crore shares and units were traded through 171,700 transactions. Among the 397 companies participating, 373 saw their share prices rise, while 15 companies recorded a decrease, and 9 remained unchanged.
The primary DSEX index rose by 147.57 points to 5,164.83, the DSES Shariah index gained 22.55 points to reach 1,136.21, and the DS30 blue-chip index increased by 57.58 points to 1,915.86.

Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw gains, with the CASPI index up by 2.35 points to 14,347.77. The CSE recorded trades of 25.79 lakh shares and units across 2,604 transactions, with 217 companies participating. Out of these, 175 companies’ share prices rose, 29 declined, and 13 remained steady.
Wednesday's trading volume on the CSE totaled Tk 6.90 crore, down from Tk 10.08 crore the previous day.
