Trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended with the main capital market index in a downturn and losing 50.48 points on Sunday amid rising sales pressure fearing loss.
On Sunday, the main index DSEX decreased by 50.48 points to 5365.50 points, the DSES Shariah index down by 12.39 points to 1175.51 points, and the DS-30 special blue-chip index fell by 11.85 points to 1953.68 points.
The trading record in the DSE shows shares and units of 21.77 crore were exchanged through 154631 transactions. Tk 559.6 crore shares and mutual funds were transacted in the DSE on the day. That was Tk Tk541 crore on the previous working day.
A total of 394 companies participated in trading on Sunday. Among these 63 companies' prices increased, 292 companies' prices decreased, and 39 companies' prices remained unchanged at the DSE.
On the other hand, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI index decreased by 0.37 points to 14796.06 points on Sunday. A total of 205 companies’ shares and units were traded at CSE. Among these, the share prices of 47 companies increased, 140 companies decreased, and 18 companies remained unchanged.
The volume of transactions at the CSE was Tk 3.97 crore on the day, which was Tk 5.03 crore on the previous day. Shares and units of 17.53 lakh were traded through 2097 transactions at the CSE on Sunday.
