The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Bangladesh’s primary stock market, surged in early trading on Tuesday, with Tk 235 crore in shares traded within the first hour amid increasing buying interest after three days of selling pressure.
During the first hour of trading, shares and units of 8.94 crore were exchanged through 73,018 transactions on the DSE. A total of 390 companies were active in the market, with share prices rising for 342 companies, falling for 17, and remaining unchanged for 31.
The main DSEX index climbed by 70.49 points, reaching 5,322 points. Meanwhile, the DSES Shariah index gained 13.95 points to reach 1,176.35, and the DS30 index, tracking blue-chip stocks, increased by 19.11 points to 1,956.71 during the initial hour of trading.
