Unilever celebrates grand finale of BizMaestros
Dhaka, Nov 20 (UNB) - Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) celebrated the grand finale of its 14th annual BizMaestros business competition, a flagship initiative designed to empower the country's youth in business and sustainability.
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, emerged victorious, clinching the champion's trophy after a fierce competition among the top five finalists, according to a press release.

The panel of judges, including Sarah Cooke, British high commissioner to Bangladesh, and industry leaders from Unilever and other organizations, evaluated the teams. The First Runner-Up title was awarded to Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and North South University (NSU) secured the Second Runner-Up position.
BizMaestros, comprising three challenging rounds, attracted around 200 teams in the initial phase, with 30 teams advancing to the second round for hands-on coaching from UBL's senior management. The theme of this year's competition, “Innovating for People and Planet,” inspired participants to develop sustainable business cases for selected Unilever brands, said the release.

The winning team from IBA, Dhaka, will now represent Bangladesh at Unilever's global talent platform, the Future Leaders' League (FLL) 2024, scheduled to take place in London. This international exposure provides a unique opportunity for the champions to showcase their business acumen on a global stage, it said.
Sarah Cooke commended the competition, emphasizing the importance of supporting initiatives that empower youth and contribute to economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Sonia Bashir Kabir, founder of SBK Tech Ventures, and MA Jabbar, managing director of DBL Group, lauded the finalists for their innovative solutions and emphasized the significance of BizMaestros in nurturing the talents of future business leaders.
The BizMaestros journey not only provides a platform for showcasing talent but also offers participants hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to the workings of leading FMCG brands. The winners and other top participants gain access to internship and management trainee program opportunities with Unilever Bangladesh, further contributing to their professional development, the release also said.
