In a rare instance, BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy was seen having lunch with Chief of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid in a video shared on Saturday.
Police on Saturday, picked up several BNP leaders, including senior leaders Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amanullah Aman, as they tried to observe BNP’s sit-in program in different areas. Later, they were released.

Earlier in the day, Aman was admitted to National Heart Institute Hospital in Dhaka after he fell ill when police picked him up.
Later, at the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her Assistant Private Secretary-2 Gazi Hafizur Rahman visited BNP leader Aman at the hospital.

At the time, Hafizur offered lunch, a basket of fruits and juices sent by the PM to the BNP leader, according to a press release from the Press Wing of the Prime Minister's Office.
He also said that if Aman wanted to go to any other hospital in the country for treatment, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would also make arrangements for that.

The BNP leader accepted the gifts and thanked the PM for her kind gesture and political etiquette, Hafizur added.
