Bangladesh Awami League and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of India on Monday discussed ways to improve relations between them – both the ruling parties of the two close neighbours.
The talks were held at a hotel in Dhaka between a high-level delegation of Awami League, led by its General Secretary Obaidul Quader and a visiting BJP delegation by Dr. Vijay Chauthaitwale, in-charge of the party’s foreign affairs department in Dhaka.

The two sides also highlighted the importance of further improving the friendly relations between India and Bangladesh, meeting sources said.
Awami League presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury and Kazi Zafarullah, Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy were also present.
