Awami League and its associate bodies will pay tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders marking the Jail Killing Day on Wednesday.
A press release said the Awami League leaders and workers will pay homage by laying wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of the Bangabandhu Bhaban on Dhanmondi Road No 32 on a limited scale following Covid-19 health guidelines.
Tributes will also be paid to the four national leaders, Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Capt. Mansur Ali and AHM Qamruzzaman. They all were gunned down inside Dhaka Central Jail, on November 3 in a second heinous attack three months after the gruesome killings of Bangabandhu and most members of his family on August 15, 1975.

It also said the party leaders and workers will place wreaths at the graves of August 15 martyrs and national leaders at the Banani graveyard.
As the grave of AHM Qamruzzaman among the four national leaders is in Kadirganj of Rajshahi, the ruling party also will also pay homage there, it added.
It also added that fateha , milad mahfil and special prayers, seeking the eternal peace of the departed souls of martyred Bangabandhu, his family members and the four national leaders, will be arranged as part of the programme.
A similar programme will also be arranged at the grave of AHM Qamruzzaman in Kadirganj of Rajshahi.

Besides, Dhaka north and south city unit Awami League, Mohila Awami League, Awami Jubo League, Chhatra League, Swechchhasebak League, Krishak League, Jatiya Sramik League, Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad, Bangabandhu Parishad, Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance, and various political parties and social organizations will pay homage to the four national leaders by placing wreaths at their graves.
The party will arrange a discussion at its central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city at 11 am.
