Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud on Friday said that BNP is the enemy of this society, country, journalists and humanity, therefore they must be resisted.
The minister said this while addressing at the 11th anniversary discussion of the weekly 'Chatgar Sangbad' newspaper at Bangabandhu Hall of Chattogram Press Club this evening.
Hasan Mahmud said, “BNP has now entered the rat hole to conspire against the country. Their leaders looked from the hole and announced the programmes, attacked cars, attacked people, burned schools and houses. They beat up almost 32 journalists and injured them.”

He said that to destroy the country, they set fire to Baitul Mukarram in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The Holy Quran was set on fire, and hundreds of people were burned to death. 3,500 vehicles were torched. Many trains and launches were set on fire.
“The same attempt was made in 2018, and they did not succeed. This time too, there have been many conspiracies against the country and those are still happening. These conspirators must be resisted,” said Hasan Mahmud.
Presided over by Nurul Absar Chowdhury, publisher and editor of the weekly 'Chatgar Sangbad', the meeting was addressed, among others, by former ambassador SM Abul Kalam, Chattogram Press Club vice-president Chowdhury Farid, general secretaries Deb Dulal Bhowmik, Amir Uddin Chowdhury, Professor Mohammad Shahidullah, Asian University for Women teachers Professor Moinul Islam and Khairul Enam Sujan.
