In a press release, party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday urged the party grassroots leaders to follow the guidelines in nominating its candidates to vie for the posts of upazila chairman, vice chairmen (male and female), municipality mayor and union parishad chairman.
As per the guidelines, party’s district unit president/convener, general secretary/member secretary or No-1 joint general secretary, upazila unit president/convener, general secretary/member secretary and No-1 joint general secretary will recommend in written for the nomination of the BNP’s upazila chairman and vice chairman candidates, and will send it to BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office with necessary papers, including NID card and updated voter list, five working days before the last date of submitting nomination papers.
Similarly, the party’s district unity president/convener, general secretary/member secretary or No-1 joint general secretary, municipality unit president/convener, general secretary/member secretary and No-1 joint general secretary will recommend in written for the nomination of the BNP’s municipality mayor candidates, and will send it to BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office with necessary papers, including NID card and updated voter list, five working days before the last date of submitting nomination papers.
Regarding the union parishad polls, party’s upazila unity president/convener, general secretary/member secretary or No-1 joint general secretary, and union unit president/convener, general secretary/member secretary and No-1 joint general secretary will recommend in written for the nomination of BNP’s chairman candidates, and send it to its chairperson’s Gulshan office with necessary papers, including NID card and updated voter list, five working days before the last date of submitting nomination papers.
Earlier on September 7 last, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said their party decided to join all the upcoming elections and by-polls.
