People have a huge interest in the elections, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Sunday.
"After the announcement of the schedule for the upcoming national elections, a wave of mass upsurge has been created across the country," Quader said in a meeting at the AL President's Dhanmondi political office in the capital this afternoon.

It goes without saying how spontaneous people are today about the elections and our main target is the young generation who become voters for the first time," he said.
Regarding arson attacks on trains and buses, Quader said now the politics of the opposition party is practicing in Bangladesh is not constructive criticism, rather a mere sabotage.
"This black hand of sabotage must be broken. They set fire to the standing train at stations at night. The politics of sneak attacks must be resisted and prevented," he said.

About technocrat ministers and advisers to the Prime Minister during the election time government, the AL leader said these posts do not exist after the announcement of the schedule. “And this is the rule.”
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, sub-committee convener of AL election conducting committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and its member secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap were, among others, present.
