On January 7, O-level student Anushka was raped in the house of her friend Fardin Iftekhar Dihan. She reportedly died from bleeding profusely after rape.
Speaking at the programme, BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy voiced anger over the death of rape victim Anushka.
He said it is regrettable that Anushka’s mother said her security is now at stake as she sought justice for the murder of her daughter. “The country can’t run in this way.”

The BNP leader said the incidents of rape and violence against women cannot be stopped for lack of a representative and responsible government in the country.
"The government has no responsibility to people and it is least bothered about people’s like and dislike. Their only goal is to appease the neighbouring country to stay in power,” he added.
