Amar Bangladesh Party fears that the ruling party’s 'tricky play' with the global and regional superpowers would, in the long run, endanger the national interest.
In order to stay in power, by hook or by crook, this government is trying to move away from proclamation of independence and constitutional values like democracy, Human Rights, good governance as well as free, fair, and credible elections, a press release said.
AB Party, in its protest meeting at Bijoy 71 square on Saturday morning, warned the ruling party. The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Minar, a Joint Convenor, and moderated by Abdullah Al Mamun Rana, Office Affairs Secretary, where Mojibur Rahman Monju, Member Secretary, and Asaduzzaman Fuaad, a barrister-at-law and Joint Member Secretary, spoke as guests.
Mojibur Rahman Monju said, seeking unfair benefits from regional superpowers is simply contrary to the interest of the country and nation.
Any attempt to hold non-participatory election would be a disaster for both the future democratic trajectory and eventually would lead to one-party rule like in North Korea, Burma, Belarus and Cambodia, he said.
