The ruling Awami League is fully prepared to deter the BNP from any resort to violence from their much-anticipated rally tomorrow.
The organizers have started the work of preparing the stage at the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to make the ruling party's "peace and development" rally a success.
Visiting the rally area in the afternoon, UNB correspondent found a few number of supporters of the party around the stage.
AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader will deliver his speech as the chief guest.
Dhaka south and north metropolitan units of Awami League are organising the programme jointly.
The opposition BNP is scheduled to hold a rally on the same day at Dhaka's Nayapaltan.
From Friday morning, Awami League started building the stage at the South Gate of the mosque.
People from all walks of life will stand against lies, rumors, terrorism, militancy and anti-national conspiracy by joining Awami League's peace and development rally tomorrow, said AL ideologues.
Barrister Biplab Barua, the Awami League's office secretary, told UNB, "We note with great sadness and anger that by forging the pads and signatures of Awami League, an identified group is misleading the people by spreading a fake press release on social media to postpone the peace and development rally to be held tomorrow."

Only those whose only political tools are lies, rumours, propaganda can commit such cowardly acts, he added.
"The BNP, a political evil force born in the womb of dictatorship, is running a campaign of creating panic and confusion in the public through their usual lies-disinformation, rumors and terror. Together with the people of the country, a united resistance will be formed against this evil anti-democratic power, the successor of dictatorship and patron of terrorism and militancy," he said.

On the instructions of Jahangir Kabir Nanak, member of Awami League presidium and leader of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League, the party leaders marched in every ward of Dhaka city on October 26 and October 27 to occupy the ground before the BNP program.
