With Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran each scoring a century, Afghanistan posted an impressive total of 331 runs for nine wickets while batting first in the second ODI against Bangladesh in Chattogram.
Having lost the toss and been asked to bat first, Afghanistan capitalized on the opportunity with a remarkable opening partnership of 254 runs, which happens to be the highest-ever partnership by an Afghanistan pair in ODIs.
This is the first time that both openers have scored centuries for Afghanistan, with Rahmanullah's 145 becoming the second-highest individual score by an Afghan batter.
Rahmanullah, in particular, displayed exceptional batting prowess, keeping the Bangladeshi bowling attack on their toes throughout.

Bangladesh had to wait until the 37th over to break the opening partnership of Afghanistan, with Shakib Al Hasan being the breakthrough. Subsequently, the other Afghan batters were in a hurry to get dismissed. However, Ibrahim remained composed to reach his own century.
Although Afghanistan may feel slightly disappointed for not surpassing the 350-run mark, given their favorable position at one stage, Bangladesh will face a tough challenge in chasing this substantial total, as they have never successfully chased such a high score before.
To restrict Afghanistan to 331, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Shakib Al Hasan each claimed two wickets, while Ebadot Hossain took one wicket.
