Bangladesh finished runners-up in the six-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-16 Championships after suffering a 0-2 defeat against holders India at the Changlimithang Stadium in the Bhutanese capital Thimphu on Sunday.
With the debacle, Bangladesh suffered two successive defeats against India in the on-going meet after conceding 0-1 goal defeat against them in the tournament's opener.
India dominated the first half by an early goal.

Bharat Lairenjam put India ahead in the 8th minute by a neat placing shot from danger zone beating Bangladesh custodian Nahidul Islam at his mercy (1-0).
Bangladesh forward Murshid Ali managed a good chance in the 17th minute, but he failed to score finding India goalie alone.

However, Levis Zangminlun confirmed the Indian victory scoring the 2nd goal in the 73rd minute by an angular shot from right flank with the frustration on Bangladesh (2-0).

Bangladesh team will return home Monday morning.
Group A champions India smartly reached the final crushing Group B runners- up Maldives by 8-0 goals while Group A runners up Bangladesh managed a final berth eliminating Group B champions Pakistan by 2-1 goals in the semi-finals.
Earlier, Bangladesh was placed in three -team stronger Group A with India and Nepal while Group B teams comprise the Maldives, Pakistan and hosts Bhutan.
Bangladesh clinched SAFF U-16 title in 2015 beating India in the final in tie breaker held at the Sylhet Stadium in addition to clinching the SAFF U-15 title.
