The decision was made in a meeting between eight-member delegation of Facebook and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar at BTRC auditorium in the capital.
The minister urged the Facebook authorities to follow the Bangladeshi guidelines considering anarchy, pornography, rumors, question paper leak, propaganda and social security in the country.
“Bangladeshi citizens should get the opportunity of using safe Facebook. Bangladesh has law and Facebook should implement content and other things as per the law,” he said while Facebook authorities assured to consider the matter with sincerity.
Alleging that there are some problems in use of Bangla language on the Facebook, Jabbar suggested to fix them and said that “Sheikh Hasina’s government is ready to provide any kind of assistance in the case of Bangla language.”
Secretary of Posts, Telecommunications Division Ashok Kumar Biswash and Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulation Commission (BTRC) chairman Md Jahurul Haque were also present in the meeting among others.
