An Afghan woman gave birth to a baby girl on a US military evacuation flight taking people from Kabul to Germany Saturday.
In a series of tweets Sunday, the Air Mobility Command said the woman began having complications when she went into labour at one point on the journey.
So, "the aircraft commander decided to descend in altitude to increase air pressure in the aircraft, which helped stabilise and save the mother's life."

The baby girl and mother were later transported to a nearby medical facility and "are in good condition."
