India's northern and western parts will face heat waves during the next five days, while the southern and northeastern region will witness heavy rains till Tuesday, said the country's meteorological department Saturday.
Delhi and its surrounding areas have been witnessing intense heat wave conditions over the past three days, with the mercury soaring to 47.4 degrees Celsius on Friday.
Dhaka, five other divisions may witness rain today
On Saturday, the Indian capital city recorded temperatures in the range of 45-46 degrees Celsius. Temperature during night was also recorded in the range of 32-39 degrees Celsius.
Forecasting about rains, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that heavy to very heavy rainfall would be recorded at isolated places in the northeastern state of Meghalaya and southern state of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
