Mayor of Mongolia's capital Ulan Bator Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan has banned the use official cars for private purposes, the mayor's press office said Tuesday.
"Mayor of Ulan Bator Amarsaikhan has recently issued a decree on ensuring the implementation of Civil Service Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct for Administrative and Service Officers," the press office said in a statement.
"Particularly, he has ordered to fire anyone found using official cars for private purposes," it said.
Mongolia started placing stamps containing the words "for official purposes only" on doors of official cars since September 2018.
The stamps also include a phone number for the public to report any misuse of official cars.
