Forty-two Bangladeshis, including women and children, returned home through the Shewla border on Monday after serving different terms in an Indian prison.
They had to stay behind bars in India year after year even after completing their prison sentence.
Indian Border Security Force handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh and Immigration Police through the Shewla border at 4pm.
Sub-Inspector Abul Kalam, in charge of Shewla Immigration Police Checkpost, said this.
Montaz Mia was one of the returnees who went missing in India 30 years back. So the 66-year-old's reunion with his father created an emotional scene.
All the returnees will reunite with their families after completing the formalities, Kalam said.
