Bagerhat district administration has prepared 446 cyclone centers and educational institutions to use those as shelters as part of the preparedness to face ‘severe cyclonic storm Hamoon’ that may make landfall in Bangladesh between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Md Khalid Hossain said this after a virtual meeting on the cyclone preparedness on Tuesday morning.
He said 10 control rooms have been opened along with the 446 cyclone shelters including primary and high schools, madrasas and colleges.

There are stock of 650 metric tonnes of rice and Tk 9 lakh in cash, he said, adding that all concerned have been instructed to remain alert.
