Amid concern over rising incidents of snatching in the capital, police arrested 93 alleged snatchers from parts of Dhaka in separate drives over the past 24 hours till 8am on Monday.
Of them, eight each were arrested from Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna and Uttara zones, 14 from Motijheel, 26 from Lalbagh, 10 from Wari, 19 from Tejgaon, four each from Mirpur, and Gulshan, said a DMP media release.

According to Mohammadpur Model Police Station, four snatchers -Al-Amin, Md Faisal Hossain, Md Robin Hossain, Md Imon Hossain- were arrested from Chandrima Model Town in connection with the snatching around 3 pm.
A police team arrested Jewel, Monir, Iman, and Ashiq from an area adjacent to Agargaon Phul Market with three knives while preparing for snatching around 6:45pm, it reads.

Besides, a mobile team of Adabor police station conducted three drives and arrested five snatchers, according to the release.
Legal action against the arrestees will be taken, the media release added.
