The Association of Koreans in Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Branch of the National Unification Advisory Council of Korea donated clothing, blankets, rice, flour, cooking oil, masks, and hand sanitizers worth Tk 1 crore to Dhaka City for assisting the underprivileged people and families of Bangladesh.
A donation ceremony was held at the Dhaka North City Corporation on December 31, 2020, with the presence of Mr. Ryu Yong-Oh, President of the Korean Association in Bangladesh, Mr. Yoon Hee, Chairman of the South Asian Branch of the National Unification Advisory Council of Korea, Mr. Kim Cheol-sang, Counselor of the Korean Embassy, Md. Atiqul Islam, Mayor, and Md. Selim Reza, CEO of the Dhaka North City Corporation.

Expressing its solidarity with Bangladesh people in coping with the unprecedented challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Korean Association hoped that the donation could help those in need of help and the underprivileged population suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic in the Dhaka area.

Md. Atiqul Islam, the Mayor of the Dhaka City Hall, expressed gratitude to the friendship shown by the Korean Association in Bangladesh and stated that the donation meant more than assistance for the underprivileged population in need of help.
Mentioning Korea's economic development, he hoped that the Republic of Korea would continuously help Bangladesh progress in various fields.
