Police on Saturday morning recovered the hanging bodies of a woman and her daughter from their house at Jamgram Bandhpara village in Atrai upazila of Naogaon.
The bodies of Sabina Akter (26), and her daughter Afroza Akter (10) were found hanging in a bedroom.

According to locals, Ariful Islam husband of Sabina and a van driver by profession, left home with his van in the morning as usual. When he came home for breakfast around 8:30am, he found the bodies of his wife and daughter hanging in the bedroom.
When he started shouting, local people gathered at the house. Later, a team from Atrai Police Station went to the spot and recovered the bodies, they said.

Meanwhile, according to a local source, Sabina had a fight with a neighbour over their goat eating up crops. Later on Friday evening, an arbitration held by a local UP member Ruhul Amin Sohagh held Sabina and her daughter responsible for it.
It is believed that both the mother and daughter committed suicide together in anger over the verdict of the arbitration meeting, said locals.
At the arbitration, the confrontation was solved between both sides and they mutualized. There was no issue of any accusation there, said UP member Sohagh.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Atrai Police Station Tarique Rahman Sarkar said, “The bodies were recovered and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
“A complaint in this regard is pending on behalf of the deceased. If complaints are received, necessary action will be taken after investigation,” added the OC.
