This year, a bumper production of boro paddy has been seen across the country and if the boro crops can be harvested in time than there will be no shortage of food grains. “We have to fight from now to ensure food supply in united way,” he said.
The Minister came up with the demand while talking with the officials concerned of Rangpur division through a video conference over the current situation amid corornavirus, from his residence in the city.
Mentioning that the official concerned of food department are carrying out the boro procurement activities, the Minister asked the local public representatives and local administrations to monitor the activities for avoiding irregularities in the procurement process.
Issuing a warning note, Sadhan Chandra, said “Farmers will be selected through lottery and if any farmer is found involved in selling his slip to any middlemen, than his card will be cancelled and the middlemen will face punishment after bringing him to the book.”
He also asked all to interact with each other, behave well and perform duties with honesty and dedication.
Commissioner of Rangpur Division, Regional Food controller, deputy commissioner of Rangpur, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon, Gaibandha and Dinajpur districts were present at the video conference.
