The formal trial through submission of the chargesheets against four people including former superintendent of police (SP) Babul Aktar and US based-Youtuber Elias Hossain in a case filed under Digital Security Act (DSA) started.
Though there was a schedule of submitting the chargesheets on Thursday (April 27), the law enforcing agencies pressed it on April 9 at Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (CMM), said Sub-Inspector Mokbul Hossain, general recording officer of the court.
He said the case will be transferred to Cyber Tribunal court from the CMM. The investigation officer of the case appealed to the court for issuing an arrest warrant for absconding Elias.
The development of the case came on Wednesday despite the chargesheets were submitted on April 9.
The other accused in the case are Babul’s father Md Abdul Wadud Miah and his brother Md Habibur Rahman Lavu.
According to the case statement, Elias in association with Babul Aktar leaked the audio of the former SP on his Facebook page and Youtube channel from the US.
