The fire that broke out at a warehouse in Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar Sunday was brought under control after one hour.
The blaze started at the warehouse at 11:38pm near Madina Ashiq Tower.
On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and could tame the flames at 12:30am, said Shahjahan Shikder, deputy assistant director (media cell) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
"No casualties were reported and the extent of damage could not be confirmed immediately. Also, the reasons for the fire mishap could not be known," he added.
