Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Saturday stressed the need for staying alert about evil communal forces as they usually try to raise their ugly heads ahead of national election .
“Though the communal forces were controlled with our collective efforts but they are yet to be uprooted. We have to stay alert about them,” he said.
The information minister came up with remaks while speaking at a programme after inaugurating the Mahalaya festival of Hindu community at Banani field in the capital.
“Communal forces are still active in the country. They engage in communal provocations from time to time for their vested interests,” he said.
Following the government’s step to ensure security during Durga Puja, the number of Puja mandaps is increasing every year, he said.
