A sudden rain triggered traffic chaos in different parts of the capital with vehicles stranded on roads for a long lime, causing sufferings to commuters.
The heavy rain that started around 2 pm and lasted for over an hour gave its residents some relief from scorching heat of the last two days.

The water-logged roads in Moghbazar, Malibagh, Banasree, Hatirjheel, Mirpur and road digging works of different utility service departments mounted pedestrians’ woes.
Bangladesh Metrological Department forecast that light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over southern part of the country.

Beside, a low pressure area formed over East Central Bay and adjoining area was intensified into a well-marked low over East Central Bay and adjoining northeast Bay and then intensified into a depression and further intensified into a deep depression over the same area.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction, said the Met office in its forecast.
