An assistant professor of Mymensingh Medical College (MMC), who got infected with coronavirus, was airlifted to Dhaka on Saturday evening after his condition deteriorated.
A press release of the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) said Dr Mohammed Amdad Ullah Khan was brought to Dhaka by a helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force on emergency basis.
The BAF has been providing emergency air transport and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) assistance in aid to civil power under Bangladesh Armed Forces.
Apart from him, Dr Shovan Rahman and Dr Marium Akter, two attendants of the infected physician, were also flown to Dhaka by the same helicopter.
Later, he was taken to Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital in the capital city for better treatment, added the press release.
