English newspaper Daily Sun has stepped into its 13th year.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan inaugurated the founding anniversary celebrations by cutting a cake at the newspaper's office in the capital Monday.
Daily Sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury and Executive Editor Rezaul Karim Lotus were also present.
Academicians, diplomats of different countries posted in Dhaka, representatives of different political parties and well-wishers joined the day-long event, said a media release.
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Bangabandhu Chair Professor Syed Anwar Husain and World University of Bangladesh Professor Abdul Mannan Choudhury were guests of honour.
Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Sudharshan Seneviratne, Kosovo Ambassador Guner Ureya, China Deputy Ambassador Hualong Yan, Russian Deputy Chief of Mission Ekaterina Semenova, German Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Jan Janowski, Royal Thai Embassy Minister Counselor Panom Thongprayon, Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner Ruwanthi Delpitiya, First Secretary Srimali Jayarathve, Indian Embassy Second Secretary Vaibhav Sunil Gondane and diplomats from US and Nepal Embassy were present.
