"We have talked to Hindu community leaders who have expressed satisfaction with security arrangements," he said, in his remarks to reporters after inspecting the security arrangements for the Dhakeswari National Temple on Saturday.
Noting that the security of puja mandaps and temples is being ensured through increased police patrols, the commissioner said Hindu community are spontaneously celebrating Durga Puja.
Responding to a question from reporters, the DMP commissioner said that the main population has no involvement with those who are spreading propaganda through social media.
Earlier, addressing the devotees at the Dhakeswari temple, the DMP commissioner said, "Every religious ceremony is being held on a limited scale due to covid."
DMP Commissioner visited several puja mandaps including Siddheswari Kali Mandir, Ramakrishna Mission Pujamandap, Dhakeswari Mandir Pujamandap. Senior officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police were present at the time.
