“Through it (hotline), those fall victim to harassment over land-related issues can lodge complaints to the Land Ministry from anywhere in the country and action will be taken accordingly,” he said while speaking at a press conference on ‘E-mutation’ at the ministry.
The minister also said a dedicated website has been launched for expatriate Bangladeshis through which they can convey their problems.
He said steps have been taken to make the land laws, formulated during the British and Pakistan eras, time-befitting ones.
Saifuzzaman also revealed that 3.75 crore out of total 4.5 crore RS and CS Khatiyans have been uploaded into the database and everybody can avail of those online. “Cent percent digitisation (of land management) will be completed once the rest come under the database,” he said.
He said there are too many problems with the registration department. “However, it’s under the Law Ministry, not the Land Ministry. As the registration section is not under my ministry, I can’t start working on it.”
