Dhaka is already among the most polluted cities in the world, where open-air incineration of urban waste contributes to intensifying air pollution.
Our photographer found that the problem is being made worse by the fact that waste is being dumped on the side of the road in many areas of the city, since there is no specific system for waste disposal.
The burning of this waste contributes to worsening the environment in different points of the capital.
Black columns of smoke can be seen rising from these disposal sites. And it is usually the cleaners employed by the city corporations who are engaged in this work.
