Mufti Amanul Haque, spokesperson for the top leaders of Ijtema's first phase, has urged the media to refer to them as 'Alem e Shura', instead of 'followers of Maulana Jubayer'.
He made this request in a press briefing on Friday afternoon.
Amanul Haque said, "We have been conducting Ijtema separately due to disagreements on various issues of Sharia with the Saad scholars. Saad Kandhlawi took a unilateral decision without consulting the Shura members."

"And we make decisions according to the opinions of Shura members, not Jubayer," he added.
Gazipur District Commissioner Abul Fateh Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said that the government and the local administration are working relentlessly to complete the two phases of Ijtema successfully.
