A drive was carried out on Monday on illegal gas connections in the Hemayetpur area of Dhaka’s Savar, targeting Titas Gas connections.
The operation involved removing around 1.5 kilometers of illegal gas lines at 3 locations, with 1 industrial burner and 400 residential burners being disconnected, according to a media statement.
This action is expected to save 67,200 cubic feet of gas daily, which has a financial value of Tk 44,670 per day.
During the drive, approximately 1,500 meters of GI pipe and 15 regulators were seized, it added.
In addition, a mobile court imposed a fine of Tk 1,00,000 on the 'KS Fashion and Washing Factory,' which was collected immediately.
