Islami Andolan Bangladesh on Monday rejected the results of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and Barishal City Corporation (BCC) elections alleging huge irregularities.
The party also announced to boycott upcoming Sylhet and Rajshahi city elections slated to be held on June 21.
The party asked the government to resign while demanded the Election Commission to be dissolved. Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim made the announcement at a press conference on Monday evening.

"When the administration is partisan, we can never expect a fair election," he said. “That is why I demand the resignation of this government. I also demand the withdrawal of the Election Commission.”
Rezaul Karim said, "We have candidates in Sylhet and Rajshahi city elections. We are announcing to withdraw their candidature. Because there is no congenial environment.”
"Today, we took out protest marches across the country, including Dhaka, against the irregularities in the election and the attack on Nayeb-e-Ameer. And on Friday, after Jumma, we will hold protest marches across the country,” he added.

At the press conference, mayoral candidate Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim said, "There was no booth in today's election where Awami League people did not stand and force them to vote for them.”
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Barisal city has issued a statement condemning the attack on Islami Andolan's mayoral candidate Mufti Syed Faizul Karim.
