While exchanging views with the commanders of all the police units through videoconferencing from the Police Headquarters on Sunday, he, however, warned that no irregularity, unprofessional behaviour or misconduct will be tolerated.
“The police will continue to work for the welfare of people showing respects to unconditional love and appreciation of the common people and eminent personalities,” the IGP said.
He also gave the policemen necessary instructions on various issues, including maintaining the law and order in the current coronavirus situation.
Dr Benazir directed for taking all necessary steps to stop the price hike of essentials and prevent black marketing and hoarding of goods during this holy month of Ramadan.
He also asked all to ensure that trucks and other vehicles carrying goods do not face any hassle at any stage while returning after delivering the goods.
The IGP directed all the policemen to continue their efforts enforce the lockdown strictly and so that social distancing is ensured and health guidelines are followed properly to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Mentioning that all arrangements have been made to provide proper treatment to the affected policemen, he said corona-related medical facilities have been expanded to other police hospitals, including Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.
Besides, such treatment measures have been taken at the departmental level, Dr Benazir said.
He said Bangladesh Police is by its members and their families. “Adequate arrangements have been made for the medical treatment if any member is affected by coronavirus. The people of this country have also unconditional love and respects for those who have devoted themselves to the welfare of the country and its people.”
Adequate protective equipment have been procured for all the police personnel on duty and those are also being distributed to various units, the IGP said.
