A deputy assistant engineer of Kurigram office of the Education Engineering Department (EED), who had been undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital with fever, cold and respiratory problem, has died.
The deceased was identified as Zubaidul Islam.
Executive Engineer of Kurigram EED Shahjahan Ali said Zubaidul had been suffering from heart disease and dengue.
He died on the way to Dhaka around 9:30pm on Wednesday as physicians in Rangpur referred him to Dhaka for better treatment, he said.
Dr Mainuddin, medical consultant of Kurigram General Hospital, said Zubaidul complained of respiratory problems on Tuesday and was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Wednesday. He was there at the isolation unit.
