A local Awami League (AL) leader was stabbed to death in an attack by miscreants in Lalpur upazila of Natore this morning.
The deceased, Osman Goni, 40, was general secretary of ward-5 unit of AL, in Kadimchilan union parishad (UP) of the upazila.
Locals and police said that miscreants stabbed him with sharp weapons when he came out of his house in Dangachilan area around 8 am, leaving him dead on the spot.

The AL leader was the prime accused in the former UP Chairman Abdur Razzaque murder case and he had enmity with former UP member Rezaur, they said.
Confirming the murder, Lalpur Police Station’s Officer-in-charge Ujjal Hossain said additional police personnel were deployed in the area to maintain law and order situation.
