Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra were advised to lower signal as cyclone Mocha completed landfall on Sunday and squally weather is unlikely over the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers were advised to stay near the coast and proceed with caution until evening, said a Met office bulletin on Tuesday.
Cyclonic storm Mocha moved North-Northeastwards and completed crossing Bangladesh-Myanmar coast at 6pm on Sunday, weakening into a deep land depression near Sittwe in the neighbouring country.
It is likely to move further inland and weaken gradually by precipitation (rainfall), said a Met Office bulletin on Sunday.
