A total of 15 university students and professionals from different sectors participated in the training programme virtually from July 15 to 19, said a press release on Monday.
The leading conservation learning hub NKC arranged the training as one of its regular events. It was arranged virtually due to the pandemic and participants from different parts of the country were able to join.
Suraiya Islam, Intern of NKC, delivered her welcome speech in the opening session.
The training session was facilitated by Dr Subrata Sarker, assistant Professor, Department of Oceanography, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
He presented the basic understanding of the ecological data analysis with R by screen sharing with all the participants and shared his experience with data analysis and how it is useful for conservation and planning.
At the end of an interactive session, Dr Subrata discussed the importance of R in various ecological sectors.
Suraiya Islam, in the closing session, thanked Dr Subrata and appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm.
Meanwhile the participants urged her to arrange more training programmes like GIS, conservation statistics, GPS, advanced R training, MATLAB, and graphic design.
Lastly, the participants wrote their feedback on an Online training evaluation survey form, where they shared their views about the online training and acknowledged NKC’s efforts to spread conservation skills.
