The DNCC authorities cleared their position on Thursday night through a press release following confusion among people over their previous announcement that the area to be put under lockdown since midnight.
“The lockdown announcement will be made only after receiving a specific map with details information of red zones from the Health Ministry,” DNCC said, adding that they are yet to receive any such map or specific instruction.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nazrul Islam Dhali, councilor of ward-40 of DNCC, held a meeting in the area over implementation of lockdown measures as a precautionary step.
At one stage, some people made a lockdown announcement using loud speaker in the area that misguided the residents.
Nazrul Islam said, “This is a complete misunderstanding. I am sorry for that.”
